Kim Holder: An economist specializing in making economics and personal finance engaging, relevant, & fun!
Kim Holder brings her passion for economics to life as the Director of the University of West Georgia (UWG) Center for Economic Education and Financial Literacy. As a Senior Lecturer in the Richards College of Business, she creatively integrates pop culture into her teachings, from music in the National Rockonomix® Contest to movies and TV shows, making economics relatable and engaging.
An alumna of UWG and Georgia State University, Kim has written extensively on innovative teaching methods, including The Ultimate Guide to Teaching Macroeconomics, Off-Campus Study, Study Abroad, and Study Away in Economics: Leaving the Blackboard Behind, and other digital teaching guides. She’s a respected author and a dedicated mentor and leader in the educational community, serving on numerous boards and as past president of the National Association of Economic Educators.
In the last seven years, Kim has successfully raised and directed over a million dollars toward developing inclusive and innovative pathways for economic education, demonstrating her commitment to making a difference in the field. Her efforts have earned recognition from multiple economics and educational associations and have significantly influenced her students, colleagues, and the economics education community.
